LG Chocolate BL40 How Do I? Guides - Mass Storage

 

If you have ever wanted to put music, videos, pictures or games on to your Chocolate BL40 really quickly then using the mass storage facility is simply the best way!

 

For this tutorial you will need your USB Cable which was supplied in the box.

Step 1 - Jump into the Menu

Press the Menu icon found in the lower left of your screen.

Step 2 - Find & select Connectivity

Within the Settings section scroll across and select Connectivity (should be the last option).

Step 3 - Select USB Connection

Select Always Ask or USB Mass Storage - click to enlarge

Select USB Connection. You will now be presented with a few options:

 

  1. Mass Storage - Used for quick transfers from any computer without the need for software
  2. PC Suite - Used to connect with the LG PC Suite
  3. Music Sync - Used to synchronise your music with your Windows Media Player or LG Music Player
  4. iSync - Used to synchronise with iTunes
  5. Always Ask (Default) - This option is better for those who will connect their Chocolate and computer together frequently for a variety of reasons. Everytime you connect a pop up will appear asking you to confirm which mode you would like.

 

Select Mass Storage.

Step 4 - Plug in your USB Cable

Plug your USB Cable into your computer and mobile phone.

Step 5 - Mass Storage pop-up!
 

Select Start - click to enlarge

Select My Computer - click to enlarge

After a few seconds a pop should appear on your computer asking you what you would like to do with this drive. Select File Explorer.

 

Please note: If this pop up does not appear then please select 'Start' then either 'Computer' or 'My Computer' and select one of the external drives. Usually this would be E,F or G.

Step 6 - Find your Pictures, Music or Videos on your computer

Find your pictures, music and videos on your computer by opening another file explorer window by selecting 'Start' either Music, Picture or Videos.

Step 7 - Highlight and select your files

Highlight the desired files, you can select more than one by pressing and holding the 'Ctrl' key on your keyboard.

Step 8 - Drag & Drop or Copy and Paste

With all your desired files selected you can either drag and drop them into the external drive or just right click and select Copy and then paste them into your external drive.

 

Please note: Ensure you copy the files into the correct folders - Pictures & images go into the Pictures folder.

Step 9 - Safely remove the USB stick

Once complete, safely remove your USB cable from your computer by clicking the safely remove icon found within your system tray on your computer and then remove the cable from your Chocolate.

Step 10 - Enjoy!
 

Select Gallery - click to enlarge

Press Menu and select Gallery and here you'll find all your media content including pictures, videos, games and music.
